Introduction

This guide presents a selective list of key resources for analyzing a script to determine sound and music needs and for sounds effects and music from prerecorded sources. It addresses the specific requirements of the class project for the Brandeis University theater arts courses "Sound for Theater, Film, and Television" (THA 50b) and "Sound Design (THA‚ 241a-b) taught by David Wilson.

Resources cited in this guide include print and electronic books and reference works, as well as sound recordings and Web sites. Some of the electronic resources are available to authorized Brandeis users only.
