Use LOUIS to find books and other materials in the Brandeis Libraries.

  • use advanced search for a more effective search using cominations of keywords
  • use synonyms to increase your chance of finding all the best material
  • follow subject links to find more on your precise topic
  • don't be too specific! general books can have a chapter on your topic

example: south africa* (* gives you all words beginning with those letters)

AND

health or disease or AIDS (synonyms)

AND

child* or youth or adolesc* or teen*

leads to subject: AIDS (Disease) -- Social aspects -- Africa

Use WorldCat to find books and other materials at other libraries with links to libraries that own the materials. Use Interlibrary Loan to request them.
