About the Reserve Collection

We encourage faculty and instructors to place required readings, videos, etc. on reserve to ensure equal access to all of the students on your courses. The primary function of the on-site Reserve collection is to temporarily house these resources behind the Loans & Returns desk. They are set apart from the general collection by a specially-defined set of circulation policies to ensure access for a your students. These materials are assumed to be in high demand for a limited time by the students of the specified courses. Reserve services ensure that the high demand items are equally available to all by restricting borrowing time and conditions.

Photocopies and reprints of journal articles and book chapters should be uploaded to your LATTE course. Please take the time to review our copyright guidelines. We also offer a LATTE video service for presenting films online via LATTE.

Our services are offered to any faculty, staff, or teaching assistants affiliated with Brandeis University. While the Reserve Services maintains our collection primarily for the graduate and undergraduate college of arts and sciences, we extend our services to other departments such as the Brandeis Adult Learning Institute and the Continuing Studies Department.

If you have any questions or concerns, you may email us at reserve@brandeis.edu or call us at 781-736-4630.
