Share citations and collaborate using RefShare!

Using RefShare, you can easily share your RefWorks library or specific folders within your library with friends, colleagues, and more!

RefShare is a great tool for undergraduate students, graduate students, staff, and faculty: share bibliographies with an entire class, with individual students, with research partners, project teams, clubs, or any group or individual you are collaborating with.

Accessing RefShare options in RefWorks

RefShare functions are accessible in two locations. You can access RefShare in the Folders menu in your RefWorks account.

You can access RefShare in two different locations within RefWorks: Under the Folders menu or the Tools menu:

Tools menu

←Folders menu

Either way you access RefShare, your folders will be displayed in a new window where you can choose what you want to share. Click on any of the Share Folder buttons to begin sharing:

Choose Shared Folder options

After you choose the folder you want to share, a Shared Folder options window will appear. Here is where you can choose how users can use the references you're sharing with them:

  • Copy and paste the Shared Folder URL to a web page, LATTE course page, or other location, or you can click the E-mail URL button to send the shared folder link via email.
  • Choose whether or not users can export, print, generate bibliographies, or comment on any of the references in the shared folder
  • If you want, give your shared folder a title, or provide details on what you are sharing in the Title and Information boxes
